The Grand Canyon

Many a photo have been taken of the Grand Canyon, and this here is just my very humble stab at it. As such, I would appreciate any constructive comments or criticism from all of you out there. Thank you. =)

Yes, many pictures have been taken of the Grand Canyon and so the stakes are higher to make your picture unique.

The one thing that I love about the GC is the shadows. Throughout the day the buttes, spires, mesas, and side canyons are casting shadows on eachother creating great contrast and depth.

Also, when the sky is dull and overcast don't include it in your picture. I've been there several times when the sky was very dull or an ugly yellowish-brown pollution color. So I would use the cliffs on the other side of the canyon as the backdrop with really good results.

Great choice of foreground subject though.

Work on the exposure of your photos and if not using a polarizer filter on these type shots... I highly recommend one. Will help remove haze and relection in the atmosphere. Agree on the use of the tree.

I would have preferred it without the tree. Also, might have been a nice time to use a warm polarizer, to bring out the rock a little and darken the sky.
