It takes two

I like the composition here and the contrast, but I would've preferred a more mellow lighting. I suppose you didn't have much of a choice because of the time of the day but if you had tried to keep a little less of the deck and more of the water that might've helped to lessen the impact of the harsh light. The little piece of green peeking at the right could've been avoided if it was possible imho, since it is not adding much to the composition. I've attached an attempt to show my thought (a tighter crop at the bottom and some quick cloning).
