Hi Ferdinando

Thanks for taking the time out to comment on my work.

This photograph of yours is wonderful. I enjoyed the subject and also marvelled at the crispness of lines in the soft living forms while the hard stone wall and steps are soft!

Lovely

Now, this is a classic!! The composition in this picture underrated. It's one thing to happen upon the scene and snap away. This picture was carefully composed. The lower left to right composition, with the dog in the foreground gives this picture a much more graceful flow. The steps lead up from the dog to the owner, as if to tell the stranger that he must go through the dog to get to his master.

The picture is a bit dark, the contrast a bit too harsh, but the impact of the photograph is not diminished by this. Just a superb image.

Good street photography requires certain luck and skills; a photographer can spend a lifetime wandering the streets and not get a capture as good as this.

I use the term 'mirroring' to explain how the man and dog 'mirror' each other in their twin reposes, and this is an ideal twist, with the man turned one way, the dog another.

One can imagine several variations on this, also.

Placing the building corner partly to the left of this photo, and thereby inserting angle into the photo greatly helps the photo by giving it some 'depth' as well as creating part of the angles that the eye can fill in to create a 'triangle'. (Two straight lines connected by an obtuse angle, imply a triangle, and the triangle is a very dynamic compositional device.)

Too elevated?

Well, this photo succeeds, on whatever level one analyzes it.

Congratulations (I saw it on the front page 1-20-07 under the film ad by a famous name film manufacturer -- I don't name them - they don't pay me. ;-))

This is one of those once in a lifetime where everything is lined up perfectly and you captured it here. Congrats on timing, composition and tones. I love this image. Well done!

a great picture, good tone and good mood. Terrible reality that people sleep on the street.

I would burn in the left lower corner a little, and especially the lower border on the left where the road loses its texture, it can be distracting.

Nicely done.
