wendy_woods 0 Posted January 6, 2002 I thought this was a sketch, but it's not. Really original and fun image. Link to comment
philg 0 Posted January 7, 2002 This looks like something that the cinematographers back in the days of black and white movies might have done. They were masters of creating interesting shadow patterns on walls and such. Bravo! Link to comment
mbuntag 2 Posted January 7, 2002 Its minimalism reminds me of the cover photo for Horenstein's "Black and White Photography". Link to comment
larry_kim3 0 Posted January 7, 2002 Im afraid I would have been dazzled while seeing this scene with my eyes.-) Striking (shadow) patterns. This is a high key shot with fine details. Very well seen and captured. Link to comment

sheraz 0 Posted January 7, 2002 I love the simplicity of this photograph. Excellent composition and exposure. Did you over expose while taking the photo or in the darkroom? Beautiful photographic art :) Link to comment
yang 0 Posted January 7, 2002 I have the same feeling as Hanna: The more I view this picture the more I am fascinated by it. ... aha, the tree matrix is on a hillock, not on a plain, therefore so variant shadows; ... what happened to the small tree in the foreground? ... the grown-up tree in the background looks so elegant during the other has fallen over; ... I feel I would like to see two more trees in the middle left. Link to comment
ellen_francis 0 Posted January 7, 2002 Sheraz, this is one of 6 photos I took from this scene, all overexposed between +2 and +5 f-stops. Thanks! Link to comment

maria_s. 1 Posted January 8, 2002 image ... great execution of an unbelievable composition. What a great eye you have...Those two trees in the background -- one of them fallen just like anyone of us would like it to fall. Whew! The only thing I would change would be taking all the shades of grey out and I would welcome you to the world of pure formalism. Happy New Year and many more good shots to come. julia_liu 0 Posted January 8, 2002 I too am fascinated by this picture. It looks like those snow scenes in Hitchcocks old film Spellbound with Gregory Peck and Ingrid Bergman. Link to comment

seven 0 Posted January 10, 2002 I especially enjoy the cubes that are created by the shadows. In its entirety a beautiful and yet simple image - clean; one that many would have missed. Good eye, well done. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted January 10, 2002 ...but this composition is just so symbolic of life. I see 3 stages of life: infancy, adulthood and death. It's like the surviving tree is watching the next generation grow. Being at the right place at the right time, what more could you want from photography? Link to comment
