Thank you for stopping by. The church was actually quite dark. At 2.8, I could only expose at 1/15 with .5 under.

I like the colors and the wide-angle approach; it adds to the vastness of this place.

These big spaces are always problematic - good job on this one!

A nice shot and the wide angle/fisheye works well here. However, I'm not sure about the idea of not having it centered. I know the way you did it makes for a less commonly seen shot, but to my own eye, I don't find your composition is working. I feel a sort of unbalance that makes me uncomfortable when viewing the photo. Still it is a good photo, mainly because of the nice colors.

Thank you for the valuable comment. Almost always an image like this would be taken the way you might have expected, from the center of the isle. I thought I'd break the rule and have a bit of adventure. I also felt that maybe I could convey the viewpoint and the perspective of a person actually sitting at the church, not necessarily making a perfectly symmetrical image. I guess, it's not working for you and I so very much appreciate you mentioning it.

Cyrus, thanks for 'answering' my comment. I think it would have worked more if it was taken from even more from the middle of the bench. Now, I feel you are too close from the middle not to see the symmetry you could have achieved. I guess moving a couple of meters to the left would have remove this need to see some symmetry some of the viewers might have (at least, I have this need of symmetry).

You are right. It does look better symmetrically, taken from the center. I had forgotten I had this shot. But, I took it at ISO 1600 with one stop under, ISO 3200. At this setting, I could achieve an exposure time of 1/20 for a hand held shot as the interior was very dark. I like this architecture and I'm going to go back to see if they allow me to take a tripod inside to be able to take a few shots at a decent exposure.

Yup! I like it very much when centered, aside from the noise, but you are aware of that!! Would like to see how it looks without the adjustment of the fisheye lens. I hope for you you can go back and use a tripod or at least monopod. This is a very nice architecture.

This shot just takes you right in! Great wide angle!

I just bought a fisheye, so this one naturally caught my eye. Even with their distortion of straight lines, I still like the way they take give such an accurate reproduction of a large space.

For the comment Carl. What did you buy? I checked your portfoilo and saw no evidence of a fish eye lens!

I usually don't like fish eye type shots -- usually gimmicky but this one really works here. Nice color harmonies. Would love to see more of this Church. Is this Coptic (saw exchange with Rafik)? Where is it? Thanks in advance.

This is the Trinity Church in Boston, MA. It's in the heart of the Coply square, next to John Hancock building. You have been to Boston, right?

Been to Boston a fair number of times but usually for work. Did have a chance to do some sight seeing a few times but missed this beauty.Looked up Trinity Church on the web. They need your shots! Your shots really show off the interior. Really looking forward to seeing more (of your) shots. The altar area looks like one could spend hours there. I love the ambient lighting. I am looking forward to visiting the recently rennovated Baltimore Cathedral. It has been restored to the way it was when Latrobe first designed it. Lots of ambient lighting. It's supposed to be spectacular.
