Hi Julie,

 

I'm a sucker for dramatic-looking night shots. This one has a lot of good aspects - the exposure is right on, the use of thirds, and the calming yet energenic ocean in the foreground. My only wish is that the pier wasn't visible in the foreground. Also, I wonder if this shot would have looked even better in a wider format? You could try cropping off some of the top and bottom and see - GB

Thank you all for your comments. Greg, I will clone out the pier and post that photo in my profile thingy. I must say that I do rather like the water and the sky in the photo, as I feel it gives the photo depth. But thats just me. I will try to crop some out and see what it looks like. Thank you for your ideas.
