stevespencer 0 Posted February 26, 2006 I really like this one. The all-green & silver from edge to edge of the frame along with the general compositional elements make it an outstanding image. Their eyes add an element of depth. Good sharpness and exposure, dof. Great job. -s Link to comment

tom l 0 Posted March 30, 2006 This is outstanding. The textures and great tonal range caught my eye first and then I was drawn in further by the masks and realization that this was a portrait not an abstract of interesting colors & shapes. The compositions you have in this Carnival folder are wonderful and unique. Are these posed shots? Link to comment
stilfoto 0 Posted March 30, 2006 Thanks again to everyone for your very nece words. I'm really glad you like this (and onther carnival pictures I've made). To Tom: Well posed or not posed - that's actually a hard question to answer. At the carnival in Venice all the people in costumes try to "out perform" each others in an attempt to draw the most photographers - and they are really good at doing photographic postures - so in that way they are posed. But, I have not instructed them in any way about what to do or how to do it. I guess you could say that the poses here are the way the persons have decided for themselves they want to be seen. I guess that's the best way to describe the situation... And to you and everyone else who like my carnival pictures (and others on the site as well): If you ever get the chance to go to Venice during the carnival you should - it's a great experience. Cheers, Stefan Link to comment
