WOW!!!!! Do you live near there? That's a wonderful shot! Do you have more? Feel free to post them here. :-)

We just spent a week's vacation in the area a few years back... Found Rocamadour too touristy, but discovered more interesting small villages.

I would absolutely agree with you about the idea that Rocamadour is too touristy! Some of the other towns from the photos in this same folder are towns that we liked a lot, though. Issigeac, Villereal, Monpazier, Monflanquin (I don't know if I've spelled them all correctly). They were all very quaint and small town-ish. :-)

A besautiful place! I can see why you went for the gentle contrast which works well imo. I think Ada has the right idea to keep that and lighten the light colours.

Very beautiful photo of this beautiful place. Excellent composition in black and white. When I think... that I visited Rocamadour about fifteen years ago and I was unable to take only one photo worthy of this extraordinary site! Shame on me!

I have never been there and have always longed to go! Beautiful corner and good take.

Regarding the lack of contrast it have already been addresses by others. I would, only, suggest to you to use the Channel Mixer tool in PS to do conversions to B&W. With it you can simulate the use of coloured filters for B&W photography.

Warm regards from sunny Madrid

I like the 'flow' down the hill in this frame. I'm divide between this one and the more contrasty version: this does strike me as not having very good contrast, but at the same time it gives a timeless sense which goes well with the old buildings.

Lou, I might be mistaken but what I know we visited

a lot of places in Spain ( Sept. 1998)and Rocamdour,

Spain was one of them.I know we did not

cross the border to France yet. We went to this

place to see the Black Madonna, she was known to be

a miraculous. We had a tour bus 80 of us from Lisbon,

Portugal to Paris,France. We did not climb the hill.

It was a tour for "Alternative Healing" a continuing

educations for Nurses and other deciplines.

Thanks for pointing this out and for the pictures posted.

Me? I had only that one and the "black Cross", the walkways,

Stairs etc.You got good compositions of this historical

place.

I might give the tour manager a call to about this

place. Thanks again...
