I don't say WOW very often, but this is wonderful. Great B&W treatment, and you got a great open-eyed look from the child. I would say there was some post-production work done, and you did a fine job. Framing is perfect.

Not sure what you mean by post production work. The picture is original as taken other than converting to Black and White and cropping.What PS work are you seeing? Thanks for the great comment

This is a very tender, sweet portrait. Just wish the focus were a little sharper.

Just looked to me like the background had been PS'd out to add more focus to the baby. It was a good job if that's what was done. Was that the natural background? If so, what was it? Just curious. It's still a great shot the second time around. Cheers.

Barry, It is a muted muslin backdrop. Here is the original color photo so you can see it better. And one from father back so you can see more of the backdrop

 

Better veiw of backdrop. It just got really soft and muted when I did the close up.

That's a nice full-frame shot, as well.

 

OK, three lashes with a wet noodle for me for thinking the background was PS'd.

 

An excellent image, at any rate.

It's actually a differant pose and the mom didn'tlike her side profile but I do also like it as well. No lashes with a wet noodle necassary, not this time anyway. I think it is great Barry that you are so diligent in leaving comments and ratings. I for one appreciate you.
