els baltjes 0 Posted February 21, 2006 What a lovely shot, Nicholas, of a lovely child. The eye is very sharp, well done. Gr Els Link to comment
will king 0 Posted February 21, 2006 This is absolutely a perfect shot. Everything is working. His expression, bright blue eyes, lighting, tones, etc...all excellent. Definitely a contest winner. Link to comment
giggles 0 Posted February 21, 2006 Thanks Els & Will - I just took this about an hour ago. I have never shot RAW before and Jayme keeps encouraging me to try so here it is and I must say I am hooked. It does take longer but I am amazed at how much more control I have over the colors/brightness/saturation etc. I also have been scared of natural light but it wasn't that difficult. You'll probably seem more in the future. I now wish my studio had better windows (this was taken by a bay window in my home). Thanks again for your comments and support. He's my blue eyed baby so this might go on the wall:-) Link to comment
will king 0 Posted February 21, 2006 Emily, the best thing about shooting in RAW is that while you're doing your changes in the RAW converter, there's little to no picture degradation, unlike jpgs. This is certainly a winner. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 21, 2006 I agree, RAW is the way to go. And this sweetie deserves a great wall spot! Link to comment

jennea 0 Posted March 17, 2006 You have many wonderful photographs in your portfolio, but this has to be my absolute favorite. You have captured this child's personality exceptionally well just by the tones and focus on the eye. Beautifully done! Link to comment
giggles 0 Posted March 17, 2006 Thanks J. This is my son - I hope you are seeing all the playfulness in his eye. I call it naughty but at 16 months I know he is just testing out his new found independence. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Link to comment
