sghosh 0 Posted March 16, 2006 Undaunted by little or no infrastructural help, these artists spendtheir entire lives, sometimes generations, creating beautiful earthenidols of mostly Hindu Gods.A streetside shot of one of these Godmakers in action in Kumartuli,Calcutta, India, a locality made famous by them. Please view larger. hbipul 0 Posted June 2, 2006 a great portrait of a kumar. the bw works very good, and love the light. The dedication of the person shown here is superb. only sad thing is- no one commented on this photo in last 16 days. is it true that some ppl look for poverty in south asia rather than cultural heritage? sghosh 0 Posted June 19, 2006 Thanks for your ratings and appreciation. About your other comment - I have seen most of the photonet viewers to be interested only in the photographic aspect of the postings, irrespective of locations or cultures. So, optimistically speaking, I think you can lay your doubts in peace and continue to develop your already excellent portfolio. Link to comment
