Guest Guest Posted February 20, 2006 Very atmospheric, I love the feeling of mystery that this picture captures. The light is delightful, and the composition is excellent. I can't find anything to improve on here Jana. Link to comment
jana 1 Posted February 21, 2006 At the end of the world - Misty sea shore at the southern part of Iceland, the mist was blown away for a moment and this is what it revealed. Thanks for stopping by. Jana Link to comment
jasonwilliamsphotography 0 Posted February 21, 2006 The title sums it up, ghostly tones... Link to comment

cyrus khamak 0 Posted February 22, 2006 Very nice work Jana, like it a lot. Was just wondering if cutting a bit from the top, just to the point where the white and hot pixels end, would be an imrovement. In that case, cropping a bit from the right also may help balance the composition. Just a thought. Regards. Link to comment
jana 1 Posted February 22, 2006 Cyrus, thanks for your ideas. I want to show how the mist was flowing so I rather like the white spot above, it certainly adds to the ghostly atmosphere.. Anyway thanks! jana Link to comment
cyrus khamak 0 Posted February 22, 2006 You are right dear Jana. Sometimes I get too sensitive and technical about hot pixels, so much so that it prevents me from seeing and appreciating the beauty as is presented. I do consider this as a flaw in my judgemet sometimes.Best regards. Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted February 22, 2006 I like the framing of the image. The sea -rather gently- leads us toward the horizon, and from the sharpness of the foreground into the mist encompassing the main subject. That's a good foreground->background rythm. There is another good left->right one with the way the plateau is falling down fast in the cliff first, and then slowing down...almost preparing for the discontinuity of the rocks. I like the light above the rocks. First, it gives a good impression of the fog. Second, sort of frames the rocks. Third, balances the bright areas in the sea...and let a darker subject be, indeed, the subject. Without the lighter area at the top, the eye would be attracted too much by the lighter patches of foreground sea. Link to comment
dominiquedodge 0 Posted February 23, 2006 Wonderfully atmospheric. The sort of thing one can look at for a long time without tiring of it. I wonder about the bright zone top, but agree with Salvatore's comment: without it the emphasis would shift to the foreground too much. I like the grainyness which gives it a dreamlike quality (not nightmarish for me). Thanks. Link to comment
fhick 0 Posted March 1, 2006 Very nice shot with dramatic ambience, impression of insecurity. Nice blue tones, nice shapes of the rocks. I like this one. Fernand Link to comment
