I like the floating shooter. Nice expression and his face is framed nicely by his arms and the ball.

 

A couple of things. First, it's kind of hard to tell from a small image, but it appears to me to be "back-focused," (focus locked on the background, not the subject).

 

It's hard to tell without knowing what settings you used, but I'd suggest you try shooting with a wider aperture. If you add those to the details tab, (f-stop, exposure, looks like off-camera flash off to your right, ISO, etc.) it can help the critiquer.

 

Finally, I could see cropping this differently. Think about just the player and the defender closest to him, or more of a square with the banners in the background cropped out.

good moment, but the flash kills it for me, as the shadowing and harsh differences in lighting take away from the atmosphere. not sure what camera/lens you are using, but consider getting a "fast" lens if you like this shooting a lot. it helps to be able to freeze the action without a flash or with minimal flash. i use lenses that let me get to at least 2.8 aperture and preferably 1.8 for indoor kids gyms.
