richbh 0 Posted February 13, 2006 Those who rate this a mere "3" for aesthetics have no concept of the quality of light. The range in the photograph is excellent, as is the memorialization of the most mundane of the most familiar of machines: the lowly doorknob. It's an excellent photograph. Link to comment
sansmeat 1 Posted February 13, 2006 Thanks Rich for your kindness. As a very new photographer your words are very encouraging. I saw the ratings and thought the originality could be low but I thought the aesthetics were pleasing enough. I know this is all subjective and personal so I try not to let low ratings bother me too much. ...Bryon Link to comment
richbh 0 Posted February 13, 2006 ...these ratings are highly subjective and - in my opinion - it is best to ignore them completely for a month or so. As more people "dig" to see more of your work on this site they will see the photograph long after its original posting and the ratings will actually climb! It's an odd phenomena of this site. It is also better to pay attention to the critiques: critique requires time and thought, not a few mouse clicks on the spur of the moment. * * * You keep on shooting what interests you - do it with thought and technique and you'll do just fine. You have a good eye and all you need is practice and curiosity. (I write like I'm some expert or another! LOL!) Link to comment
