Guest Guest Posted February 12, 2006 Awesome photo! Great timing. I'm no bird expert, but it looks like an immature Black-crowned Night Heron, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. It certainly is fantastic that you captured this at this moment. My one complaint/critique would be the cut-off feet, but in a photo such as this it hardly matters. Nicely done. Link to comment
racmia 0 Posted February 12, 2006 Beautiful picture. I suggest to crop it. Showing only the head and the fish will make it more dramatic. It will also eliminate all the distracting objects in the background. Congratulations! Link to comment
cappoldt 0 Posted February 12, 2006 Just awesome, and I second the vote - immature bc night heron. Link to comment
shotokan 0 Posted February 12, 2006 Perfect capture. You can almost see the smile on the birds face. Link to comment
nick dawson 0 Posted February 12, 2006 Great lighting on the bird and fish and good sense of drama but the background is too busy and distracting. Is it ethical to tone it down in ps? Especially the white jagged object. Or does that represent your third set of jaws? Link to comment
kellyphillips 0 Posted February 13, 2006 The first thing that caught my attention was the catfish. I believe that makes the photo more special because you never see birds eatting catfish. Graet DOF. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted February 13, 2006 Good catch, no doubt. but comparing this to a recent POW, I'd say that I find the background here a lot more distracting. Regards. Link to comment
farmer on the hill 0 Posted February 13, 2006 I would like to see the birds feet but great image all the same. Link to comment
