gianpaolodettoma 0 Posted January 4, 2002 Very peaceful shot, good choice for BW picture. Pity for the not perfectly horizontal skyline. Link to comment
noahbryant 0 Posted January 4, 2002 wow very surreal looking, almost paranormal nice photo Link to comment
ken_imduaikiat2 0 Posted January 4, 2002 First I like the pic as is... but after I carefully inspect the pic... I founded that this pic would do just great w/out that car on the left corner... I think this picture tell a better story w/out the car.. Link to comment
paul_schaugaard 0 Posted January 5, 2002 I love how the high grain makes it look like a painting. I love the picture. Link to comment
tony_storey 0 Posted January 5, 2002 Well done, this is excellent.I think the car and angle of the horizon add to the photo, love the grain.Tony Link to comment
tony_storey 0 Posted January 7, 2002 Noticed you use PhotoShop, to get rid of the dust from the scan, use the Clone tool, hold down the ALT key to pick a area to clone, then just run the brush over the dust marks, hey presto, its gone! :) Link to comment
kkeller 0 Posted January 7, 2002 Thx Toney, I will do that. This was one of my first scans with a new scanner, and I am new to Photoshop. Admittedly, this is a poor scan. I've been using the smudge tool to remove dust specks, but when there's grain, it's very evident and ugly. I will post a cropped version, per some of the comments I've recieved, and I'll use the clone tool to clean it up (I hate the despeckle and remove dust filters, they ruin the hilights in B&W). Last comment, I think the horizon is level, so to speak, but the background beach is sloping. Also the kids are at an uneven level in the water. I think the car is level, which is part of the reason I left it in. But I'll try again, just to see the change in feedback. It's all very helpful--thx for the comments. Link to comment
maria_s. 1 Posted January 8, 2002 with a/the car ... please, don't remove it. Or make another picture without the car. One thing, keep your pixels count down to 500 -- it's opening painfully slow and I can't see full frame on my 15" screen :0) Great shot, Kevin! Link to comment
gwen_barlee1 0 Posted January 9, 2002 oooh, this is very very good, would be even better if u posted it a little smaller, brilliant composition, creates a story Link to comment
mealha 0 Posted February 1, 2002 Fantastic shot. I didn't knew your gallery. I cant avoid associating this with Eugene Smith. I downloaded it in order to see it.3,2Mb. Link to comment
detlef 6 Posted February 11, 2002 if the car was not in the picture...this would be a 10/10 Link to comment
kkeller 0 Posted February 12, 2002 Great help! Now I've reposted, smaller bytes, as a square, using clone tool instead of smudge to remove dust... Link to comment
will_wilson 0 Posted February 12, 2002 Love this pic, but hate the car and the new crop. You can make the car history in photoshop with some sky to its left or right. This photo needs the space to the left. It just adds so much interest. The grain is perfect. Great shot. Link to comment
gbs 0 Posted February 18, 2003 Hi, I like the car too...and also the photo is realy pretty level...the tech aspects will be fixed I'm sure as well as general photo technique. Link to comment
