afs760bf 0 Posted February 10, 2006 Pnina, this is a wonderfully sharp, detailed photo. Great focal point and great DOF. A story all by itself. Thanks for sharing. Ben, Documentary photography is hard to find on Pnet because it can't get any ratings to make it visible and a lot of documentary shots are not considered artistic enough to rate highly. This shot is an exception to that, which is refreshing. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted February 11, 2006 To all of you, I appreciate your feedback. Ben and Barry, I have called it documentation, yes, it is, in great part, I wanted to present the life in that part of the world ,which shocked me seeing, but there is beauty of nature and other nice phenomenon in that country, like portraits, culture and other things that I would like to present in a more artistic form. I think that documentary has its merit and beauty, pity that it is not very present in the net. Pnina Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted February 12, 2006 Okay, I LOVE this one. It has already been pointed out that everything seems to come together in the center of the foreground. And the top 25% is like a negative space that balances very well against the lines created by the slats in the boats. And you've chosen a tone that most likely pervaded the shot in the first place. WOW!! But the thing about this shot that hits me most significantly is the guy in the bottom right with his head in his hand. He may just be resting in the heat ... but it looks to me more like he is simply worn out of a lifestyle that will probably never change for him. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted February 15, 2006 Thanks again Lou Ann. Yes, life in so many many cases is an every day survival task. Link to comment
meli d 0 Posted February 16, 2006 Complimenti! I like this one even best in the folder, such rich composition with tones and textures, the lines of the boards and the ripples, a perfect frame. Many compliments and congratulations. Link to comment
