For some reason I thought of Horace Silver when it came time to name it.

Comments and critiques welcomed.

Excellent Larry. Great capture. Reminds me of that Beatle's album cover where they are crossing the street. The only thing tha bothers me in this shot is the little hint of orange or pink you have towards the top center.

Larry after Mr.and Mrs. comes the group each with its personal form, that makes a very nice composition, funny as well.you have nailed the moment! Pnina

Thank you Pnina. Canada Geese are fascinating creatures. I love to watch their social interactions. They do have a tendency to squabble.

Welcome back Valkim/Stefan/Marina. Long time no see. Actually its not been long enough but such is life. Did you decide to stop back by and give me a visit for old times sakes or did you just get tired of harrassing Christopher Appoldt?

Hello Larry

You have captured great humour with these Geese, creating something quite wonderful from a subject that for me at least is usually at best mundane!

Well done for capturing a descisive moment of both humour and dynamism - and all the better for being in near monochrome!

Regards, Nick.

Hello Larry,

Thank you for commenting one of my photos. It was great to read your opinions and it gave me the opportunity to discover your portfolio! Your photos are wonderful and Blowing the Blues Away makes no exception. Definitely Horace Silver! These geese look like jazz musicians to me(the second one is playing the saxophone). Congratulations, Julie

Aah, my fine feathered friends. The birds that poop their weight every day (so they say) We live on an inlet and are surrounded by them. This is an endearing image of them. The next time they fly over I'll throw Blowin' The Blues Away on the player for them.

Thank you Hanna. I know what you mean about these guys. A few thousand Candada Geese live in this area year round. In the winter those numbers swell to several hundred thousand. You really have to watch where you put your feet sometimes. The social interaction between these birds is fascinating to watch.
