seven 0 Posted February 8, 2006 Feels deserted, like everyone was seduced by the leading lights leaving you behind to record their traces. Great spot. Link to comment
peta 0 Posted February 10, 2006 A rather surreal series, very enjoyable to view Louis! Link to comment
louis1 0 Posted February 11, 2006 This is a really ordinary spot which I reckon most people wouldn't think much about. I guess what caught my eye was the emptiness and the circle. I remember returning from Vietnam and constantly thinking everywhere is empty. Even in the suburbs with a traffic jam there would be nearly nobody walking on the pavement. In Vietnam of course cars were a rarity in comparison to the pedestrians, mopeds and bikes. The pavements (if any) were full of people and businesses. Link to comment
simonbode 0 Posted February 11, 2006 nice whitebalance, but i think it only works bigger, (i know zhat s not possible here..) like it simple as it is...regards Link to comment
louis1 0 Posted February 11, 2006 There are other images from this spot. Maybe they are better compositions? Louis Link to comment
cdaunis 0 Posted February 11, 2006 Really a fascinating shot. I like the sense of two distinct destinations tied together by the graffiti. Link to comment
kezia 0 Posted February 17, 2006 I really like this location and your work generally. The light and shapes here are wonderful. You ask for suggestions for alternative compositions and it occurred to me that most of the interest is in the upper half of this photo and my eye tends to move horizontally across the top half of the picture. It's hard to suggest how you would find an alternative that would encourage my eye to move through the whole picture area, but it occurs to me that this might be one occasion where tilting the camera might work, with the tunnel in the bottom right corner pointing upwards at the graffiti to give a strong diagonal from bottom right to top left. tom t 0 Posted February 19, 2006 Very well seen and very well executed! As for improvement me too I was thinking about a tilt, but I would do the opposite: Loose the graffitie to the left, and have the tunnel tilt up; the eye would be led to the outside. That said, the composition you have here is pretty strong too. Regards, Tom Link to comment
louis1 0 Posted February 19, 2006 From a compositional point of view (without reshooting) i was wondering if I should have cropped differently. This was the best i saw. I was concerned about the square the circle and the converging lines. The other image with the big curve on the left seems simpler and more atmospheric. Different image I know but anyway just what was in my mind. Louis Link to comment
