ransford 0 Posted February 7, 2006 All natural light (sun in the window), just enhanced a little in PS. Comments anyone? Link to comment
cjrupp 0 Posted February 8, 2006 Ransford , again here I like the shadows and light. I wonder if using the same set- up you have ever used a small reflector to bounce some light on the tips of the petals? Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted February 8, 2006 Ransford, I like that one better because of the composition. I like it a bit lighted and a bit in the dark, but CJ idea can add to it IMO. BTW,I have listend to Ali Parka's CD, and I must say that it is not exactly my taste...too monoton. Pnina Link to comment
ransford 0 Posted February 8, 2006 I'm not sure what you mean--I think the edges of the petals are clear, but if you mean the dark right side of the flower might be improved with more reflected light, then I get it. This flower is bisymmetrical, very balanced, except for lighting, which favors the left side. When I was cropping, I was a little concerned about it being too centered. I usually favor asymmetry, but this one was pretending to be an orchid, so I went with it. Link to comment
cjrupp 0 Posted February 9, 2006 Ransford, yes you have it, sorry I wasn't clear enough. I felt maybe a little more light on the upper right would add a tad more balance. Link to comment
cjrupp 0 Posted February 9, 2006 Yes, that's the look I was wanting to see. Looks good from here. Link to comment
ransford 0 Posted February 9, 2006 Thanks for the help. I think I like it better myself. This, to me, is what the critique is for. Sure, it's nice to get a pat on the back, but constructive suggestions are even better. Link to comment
