Coho 2 Posted February 7, 2006 Wonderful light and perspective. I spent a summer here when I was 13 in 1963. Not much has changed. Link to comment
billfoster 0 Posted February 7, 2006 Very nice ... walked down this street a few times, but I've enver seen it look like this. I like the color and the perspective, but I would consider cloning out the leftmost ball as it is just a bit too distorted for me. Other than that, GRANDE! Link to comment
ghiga 0 Posted February 7, 2006 Beautiful the perspective, the light, and the point of view. Link to comment

paolonigris 0 Posted February 7, 2006 Thank you all for your comments. Bill, I agree about the ball. Cloning it out is not easy (you have to recreate the reflection) and then if you do it, when you look at the picture , you kind of expect it there (especially if you know the place). The other option is to clone in a non deformed ball, but that is pushing the manipulation a bit too far. Link to comment
allence 0 Posted February 7, 2006 nice photo! the reflection impressed me the most especially because it's so clear even from a ground surface. never been there before. are the balls to block vehicular traffic or what? Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted February 7, 2006 Paulo, very nice perspective, interesting difference between the two sides. Pnina Link to comment

cherlyn 1 Posted February 8, 2006 Very good converging perspective. The place looks fresh after the storm & the reflection on the ground adds beauty to the image. Link to comment
kahkityoong 0 Posted February 8, 2006 I know this street very well but have never seen it like this with such beautiful reflections complemented by the brooding sky. Well captured. Link to comment

Ciao Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted February 8, 2006 Paolo, number of ratings and comments are making (photo.net) justice to this image and there is little to be added. I like the way each of the four parts of the shot works in a different way, here. First and foremost -before even the reflections strike me- I like the summer sky and light to the R: these alone suggest the summer storm and the justapoxition pulls out the best off the facade. Also it is interesting to look just to the buildings to the L and to the R: their shadow-sun contrast is enhanced by the people sitting in the sun to the R, supposedly warming up after the storm. This told, of course, the reflections are striking in their incongruity, and I do like the balls "floating" in the water. I have no problems with the deformation in the architectural shot. Actually, I often have some problems, and hate my pictures to be too deformed, but the strong sense of perspective of the central point where all lines converge seems to obviate to the obvious perception of the distortion. What I mean is that my eye is so abtracted in the perspective, and the rythm of the arcades helps this, that I do not realise too much how much distortion is there. This -of course- applies to when I look above the water... when I look in the water other things matter more, and the reflects completely absorb my curiosity. Congratulations for this well seen shot. susan stone 0 Posted February 9, 2006 So well composed and exposed, I can feel the electricity in the air and smell the fresh rain.....that's what I find exciting about a good photo, it makes me feel for one magical moment that I'm there. I like the DOF here and the converging buildings lead my eye through the composition and takes my mind on a journey down the road and around the corner. Thanks Paolo for sharing a part of the world that I'll never see in such a beautiful way. Link to comment
