Ummmm....

Theme fit ? I can see there might be harmony when the music plays, but apart from that I'm lost.

Photographically I do not like this one. It's extremely busy. I do not see what the subject would be ('casue too busy). Perhaps a B/W version would feel less busy and more journalism-like? If the orchestra/stage/banners are the main goal then I would leave out (most of) the audience; though I can see that (some) audience is part of the whole idea?

So... sorry PT, I'm a bit lost here.

But interested to hear other opinions (and perhaps explanations?)

I do find it fit the theme very well. One definition of harmony is as follow: musical accordance.

If this group of musician is giving an organized concert, I strongly believe that this is in harmony with each other, otherwise they would not be there. Therefore, when I see this harmony in front of this disorganized crowd that does not seem to listen too much, I see a strong theme fit. In the middle of difficulty (the crowd) lies harmony (the orchestra).

I agree with Tom that this could look better in B&W because this flow of different colours is taking too much place. Also, a little more light on the musicians could help.

Though I'm not a great fan of the aesthetics and composition of this image (neither the place it was taken!) , I believe it meets the theme on a number of levels.

Here we are commenting on the busy-ness of the image and the clash of high sat colours....while over in the distance the orchestra is dressed ........ harmoniously in black. So that could be one level of theme match; also the orderly way in which the orchestra is arranged vs the higgeldy piggeldy-ness of the crowd.

But I'd guess that PT's slant is the implied harmony of music in the midst of the the thousand things of modern life.

I see a very strong theme fit, but a pretty uninteresting image. We're not close enough to anyone to get any human interest, and the composition isn't that special. I guess I'd suggest getting closer to people so that there are distinct foreground and background elements to the shot, or if PT's happier keeping their distance, then finding some geometry for the composition.

I spent quite a bit of time looking at this, it sort of drew me in, found myself looking at all the people (i do this a lot in public places), busy with everything but the harmonious orchestra, getting myself more and more frustrated until I wanted to scream at them to shut up and listen!

I am in agreement with Jeremy with this one: a very strong theme fit but not so interesting image. Some personal interest would add impact.

I haven't got much to add, except to say that if you could somehow reduce the whole photo to just the two elements: orchestra vs crowd (ie no banners, no trees, etc). For me that would strengthen both the theme fit and the shot.

I'm off now to find out where this was !
