Yep, this is (in my opinion) way mo better. What do you think?

If you want to retain more detail in the blanket/sheet (whatever) that's in the background, prop a long card that will shade that area from the light. Since your wife's body (am I remembering this relationship rightly?) is higher that the sheet, she will still be illuminated, but the sheet will be in a soft shadow. Good job keeping the light out of your lens.

I think showing all of her right arm would be nice, and lowering her right leg would place it in the shadow of her left thigh, eliminating that bright area on her right thigh. Less busy pants might help. Especially since we don't have the benefit of their brilliant color (smiley face goes here)... t
