This is almost like a painting. I bet you have used a lot of time in photoshop to capture this one. Nice composition, lead-in, colors and story. 6-7 from me (it would have been 7-7, but it looks a bit to arranged and artificial to me).

Great shot, excellent composition. I like the colors, the contrast of the red and black, the textures of the sea and the texture of the sky. The horizion placement is well done, everything just seems very natuaral and perfect.

Very ingriging image. I really like the stripes you added to the water. There's a few things I would have done differently.

1. Crop a portion off the top to get rid of the hanging branch. In my opinion it doesn't add anything to your composition and it will move your horizon farther from the center.

2. It's obvious you added the bird, which I'm not against. I do some of this sort of stuff too, but I would add a slight glassian blur to the bird layer and bring down the opacity to maybe 93%. This will add some DOF.

3. There's some sort of object near the horizon on the right side. I'm not sure if you added that. If you did, I would move it just right above the horizon so you can distinguish what it is. If you did not add it, I would clone it out.

Hope you don't find my comments offensive. I really do like this and I think with some minor adjustments it could really be magical.

Regards,

Will

Hi Kalaga ... this is a really stupendous shot. I love the colors and the composition. Did you indeed add the stripes to the water? If so, very well done. I agree with most of Will's suggestions above but would modify it a bit. I agree about the brach at the top, but I would just clone it out. I think that a crop would either require you to go to a non-standard aspect ration (something I try to avoid when possible) or take something off the sides and I think they are jsut right. I agree about the bird, but I would consider shrinking him a bit. Still, very well done composition. I really like this.

Thank you.

You are right. The top does not add to the composition. May be i should have omitted it completely or added more of it.

The object near the right edge is a bird. There is another one sitting on the third pole from the right. But only its tail is visible.

Will, I really appreciate that you took time. Don't even have second thoughts when you drop in again. I am a difficult person to offend. Try me.

This goes to all who comment on my photographs.

Well, all said, i am glad you liked it.

"Well, Will, you really will me to write my will!"

Thank you Bill. Glad you liked it. I was not careful about the aspect ratio. Now that you mentioned it , it will look it up. One of the things about amature photography :standards are not known or researched.

Thank you Juan.

Thank you Shuki.

absolutely incredible capture! the colors and lines are wonderful. I'm not so sure about cropping out the top... the branches frame the photo, don't they?

well... I wouldn't be so picky.. it's awesome the way it is. great detail!

wow.. timing is everything, eh? the bird's position, showing it's wingspan... and the fact that it's just crossing the gap in the land-mass in the distance. This is truly incredible!

Hi Kalaga, all I was referring to by aspect ratio was keeping it to a 8 X 10, 3 X 5, whatever. This is a nice enough photo to hang on a wall somewhere and when you do, you don't want to have build a custom frame for it or cut a matt. I often find myself with pictures that I really like but I wasn't careful and I have to cut them to frame them, at which time they often lose their "magic." However, I think I was mistaken before. This does look a bit tall and you could probably cut off the top as Will suggests and get something pretty close to normal.

Great image. Background colors and black shapes here make this composition very intriguing. Not sure about the branches at the top. Part of me wants to see something up there for balance.

dear Cherlyn. Thank you.

Kaushik. Thanks man.

Thank you Sircar.

Jack , yes the top branches work to frame it. But may be i should have included more of it or not at all.

Thank you Sachin.

Bill, i got it!

Tom, yes, the top needs more. or less. But thank you. I am happy this was liked.
