Mark, nice lighting - well done. I particularly like how it reflecys of her straight hair. She looks remarkably similar to the "young cellist".

I like the work on the light. Its a good photo. I think however it is a bit formal (maybe exactly what you wanted) I would like to see more spontanity on the pose and, maybe, a direct look. Just a thought.

Yes it's an interesting mix of natural lighting and formal pose. I?m more of a devotee of natural portraiture (as opposed to obvious posing) but this one is engaging somehow.

Thank you all for your impressions. We have a number of old portraits from the 20's in the family I admire that are in similar pose...while this image is not meant to be a period piece, I wanted to achieve similar lighting and facial expression; challenging in that I do not usually approach (people) subjects with such a precise idea in mind. I'm pretty happy with it. Thanks again, MJ
