alberto.prt 0 Posted February 3, 2006 Another wonderful image. Just the kid is not enough realistic ... a more realistic kid would enhance the great effect of the stars in the sky. Just my opinion ... I'm far from being able to produce (and to conceive!) great images like this. Congratulation! Alberto Link to comment

michael_r_riley 7 Posted May 30, 2007 First off, this is not a photograph it is a graphic illustration that uses photographic elements. Second, I frankly don't know how to interpret this illustration and I think a lot of previous reviewers may have missed the point. It is fairly disturbing since the child is being lured toward, what? It's almost as if something evil is dangling "shiny" things before babies to ensnare them. What appears to be another child in the upper right seems to be hanging by a noose as she is drawn up into the light. Even the title "The Grand Coupe" is suggestive of dark purposes. Is this the desired interpretation or am I just being paranoid and protective and missing the point myself? From a technical standpoint the work is a very well done piece of graphic illustration and the photoshop work is excellent though fairly obvious (OK for this type of fantasy treatment). From a compositional standpoint the only flaw which stands out for me is the height of the star toward which the child is running. The top is almost exactly at the level of the top of the trees which tends to create a set of distracting converging lines. I'd either make the star larger (the better choice in my opinion) or smaller to separate the tip from the top of the trees. Mike in Reston, VA Link to comment
Carolyn D 44,510 Posted May 30, 2007 My first reaction was..ah, fun, fantasy and technically very well done..then as I really looked I became unsure what this image is really all about...the child in the upper right side is hanging..changed my feelings about this image..I would like to know what your trying to say here.
