I'm not really sure what this is doing on this website, which is supposed to be about photography not graphic art, or why people are so amazed that someone was able to create such an image in photoshop. Photography is about capturing something at a particular moment in time, not taking a picture and then using photoshop to insert something that wasn't there. (Although it certainly can earn high ratings on photo.net) In terms of the actual idea, it looks straight out of a Japanese graphic novel.

What I see is a child who is becoming a rising star in the eyes of the observer, but it would be cool to get a response as to what specifically is photography and which is art/illustration.

Obviously the Stars were added but if the photographer was merely taking a image of his/her/a child running across the field one day and in their mind evisioned the child to be a rising star and decided to illustrate that by changing the lighting to give the impression of a star filled night and then added more artistic/illustrative texture and vision to the original image then it may add more meaning for those reviewing this image.

Anyway for how I interpret the image I think its way cool and my first impression is wow! I feel this way because I have children myself and as any parent we can only hope our children will be rising stars in and of themselves.

This is very clever and it captivates the imagination. The child at the top appears to be hanging on to a rope or something, not hanging by her neck. I think some you need to see my shrink. I agree that the foreground star should be taller than the trees and the child should be more lifelike. But don't get me wrong, those are nitpicks and I love it! It reminds me of something out of Cirque du Soleil.
