g1 0 Posted December 30, 2001 Poor wee thing. The world obliviously plays merry-go-round, and all you can do is hang about waiting for it to slow down so you can get off. Nice shot Tony. Link to comment
steven_linford 0 Posted December 31, 2001 I do really like your work, but I have difficulty with the sub/sur-titles; are they really necessary? Link to comment
tony_dummett 0 Posted December 31, 2001 No, they're not necessary, but that's the way I "formalise" my pictures. I frame them (i.e. with picture frames) with these titles. I see the photo.net "title" space as an opportunity to add (sometimes) to the description of the picture already given in my own title. Generally, I try to keep the titles as brief, bland and descriptive as possible. It's a sort of "trademark" of mine and, to me, helps in presentation. Obviously not to you, though, Steven (and I don't have a problem with that either, of course). There's nothing I can really say to justify this practice, except to say the titles are my personal preference. Same goes for the drop shadow... I just like it. Link to comment
rienk_jiskoot 0 Posted January 3, 2002 I wish I had the time and scanning technique/knowledge to present my pictures the way you do. I like this one a lot, I was in Italy in April (Sicily), just before the general elections, and saw loads of gatherings like this. Pity the wrong guy (Berlusconi) won (as always...). Have a nice day. Guest Guest Posted April 2, 2006 Priceless. And one thing I am learning from you, again, is how you capture and use fascinating details that offset the subject. Here it's the other people in the frame, especially the man (her dad or grandpa?), whose hand and face you've so carefully placed in the corners. The tonal scheme here is also very effective, the young girl set off from the dark clothes of the others by the white marble. Link to comment
