wild nature 0 Posted February 6, 2006 I found this little fellow in the sands of the Namibian desert, one of the most arid places on earth. They are extremely well adapted. They dig themself in the sand and wait for insects and beatles to pass by. If you look at their feet, they have evolved webs between their digits in order to get a better grasp in the sand. They do not have eyelids to moist their eyes, instead they leak their eyes with their tongue several times an hour to keep them moisted (eye wiper). They are kind of cute too!. Link to comment
gungajim 75 Posted February 6, 2006 Love the way the leg has the same grain and texture as the sand. What an adaptation. I've been to the Etosha Pan and have always regretted that I didn't also to to the desert of Namibia. Link to comment
juant 0 Posted February 6, 2006 A great composition with the line of the body coming from the blurred background to the foreground and the smaller diagonal of the two feet. All this adds to a great subject Link to comment
