atkphotoworks 0 Posted January 29, 2006 Paula this is a wonderful image. It reminds me of the Ice Storm of 1998 that hit southern Quebec. I was living in Montreal at the time. The ice storm came down overnight. The following morning as I was walking through the streets, I noticed the trees covered in ice. It was quite a sight. Of course walking proved to be treacherous and as branches and ice started to come down. Sorry about the digression, again this is a wonderful shot. Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted January 30, 2006 Gaetan, Ottavio, Alex, thank you so very much for your comments. Amar, I enjoy digressions; enjoy when a shot brings backnice memories. Thanks. Link to comment
atkphotoworks 0 Posted January 30, 2006 Here's another digression then...Apart from the aesthetic beauty of trees, it wrought havoc to the region. Massive power outage for days, people living in shelters for days, some for months. Wasn't cozy for everyone. My family just spent the time in our house with thick blankets and got electricity back in a few days. Yeesh wouldn't want to go through that again. On the other hand, it's nothing compared to what those poor people in Louisiana and victims of the Tsunami in late 2004 had to undergo. Frightening the force of nature. Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted January 30, 2006 Amar, that was a hard experience and not at all nice. yet, it's important to remember as nature never stops warning us how powerful, majestic-beautiful and very destructive, too, she is. Link to comment
