mikestacey 0 Posted May 31, 2006 Another fine capture Marc. I wouldn't worry about the ratings really. Why not just post for critique only? Anyway, *YOU* surely know this is a good image and not, in anyone's books, a 4/4. The personal problems that some rater might have are nothing to do with the quality of your work, they are completely separate issues and entirely unrelated. I've received a few 3/3s lately and honestly it makes me giggle. And I don't think that's being "big headed" of me. -Mike Link to comment
marcadamus 1 Posted June 1, 2006 I do post for "Critique Only" and have for quite a while now. Ratings are pointless, absurd, and no one could learn anything from them. Link to comment
david_cassidy2 0 Posted June 18, 2006 Marc, your hard work has paid off in spades here. Just an amazing landscape. You've captured it all in this image. Great tones, great light, great composition. Simply amazing work. As for morons rating any of your work 4/4, well ... they're morons. -David http://gallery.photo.net/photo/4481421-md.jpgShadowMan awaits ... Link to comment

david.bryan 0 Posted September 22, 2006 This is obviously a beautiful photo, it captures the magnificence of crater lake (if you've ever been there you know then it's not an easy thing to do). But, it does more than that for me. It inspires me to drop everything else in my life and pick up my camera and become passionate about photography. I hope one day to take an awe-inspiring photo like this one. Thanks so much for posting it Marc, it's inspired me. -David Bryan (7/7, not that you care about ratings :) Link to comment
gama 0 Posted September 26, 2006 Very inspiring. As a beginner photographer, it's images like this that motivate me to want to get out to nature and keep learning about photography until I can one day take a picture like this one. Link to comment

john_annesley1 0 Posted October 15, 2006 Fantastic Shot ! Regarding the ND filter its good execution but of course its noticeable, I've always wished for a ND wash I could paint onto a glass filter exactly where I want the neutral density to appear... some may think that idea is nutty, but it would allow film and image sensors to more faithfully replicate what the eye sees because otherwise bright areas get washed out and dark ones disappear. The only problem would be the extra time it would take, but if you were set up and anticipating a dawn shot like this one, there might be ample time. Beautiful quality of reflection on the water. Pertaining to the sky, does your camera lose the detail in the bright highlights like mine does? I'm shooting digital and no matter what I do, I lose detail which is very visible to the naked eye in my sunrise and sunset shots- I'm wondering if you recall if the brightest area of this shot had more detail in it in so called, "real life" ? Keep up the excellent work! Link to comment
