Petty suggestion from envious photographer: I'd crop just below the wrist bone bumps, which would remove some distraction and would emphasize Mariou's eyes.

Beautiful portrait; I do not see the purpose of the hands holding the face though, he looks caught in them like property..

I get a totally different impression. I see the hands as "adoring". They are not grasping or clenching but appear to be gently cradling. But that is the nature of art - each observer will assign their own meaning. I suspect on a different level, that this is about contrast, but the emotional level of the image is just as relevant. But, alas I am not the artist, just merely an appreciating observer. Respectfully, Jerry
