Guest Guest Posted November 8, 2007 Mario's perhaps-wistful expression makes this image especially successful. Petty suggestion from envious photographer: I'd crop just below the wrist bone bumps, which would remove some distraction and would emphasize Mariou's eyes. Link to comment

beaz 0 Posted November 15, 2007 I get a totally different impression. I see the hands as "adoring". They are not grasping or clenching but appear to be gently cradling. But that is the nature of art - each observer will assign their own meaning. I suspect on a different level, that this is about contrast, but the emotional level of the image is just as relevant.
