patco13 0 Posted January 23, 2006 I like this very much. Is the tint in the sky natural? Link to comment
skarmach 0 Posted January 23, 2006 I like the soft color of the horizon. The composition is cool. Link to comment
biskamp 1 Posted January 24, 2006 thanks for your comments. Rich, the tint is real, this is what you observe just before sunrise, when the sun illuminates the atmosphere above the horizon on the opposite side Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 24, 2006 Wonderful light and colors. The pastels before sunrise are so beautiful when set against a snowy landscape. Excellent composition. The placement of the road and trees is perfect, as it the house on the left. I find the trees at far right distracting, though, and would be very tempted to crop them out, so that the road appears to travel on into nothingness. By the way, this image is much more impressive viewed LARGER. Link to comment
dennishh 0 Posted January 25, 2006 This is a beautiful image. It would look great on anyone's wall! The only thing I find disturbing is the little blob on the horizon that draws my eye. The same thing happens with the pole in the foreground and the small poles along the snow bank behind the trees. For the fun of it try removing these and seeing how you like it without them. billfoster 0 Posted January 25, 2006 Great composition and I love the colors in the sky. I love the trees on the right and I like the house also. I would probably clone out the little blob just after the main line of trees and probably the 4 fence posts on the ridge in front of the house. As for composition, it might have been nice to see all of the first tree. Just a wonderful photo as is, though. Link to comment
biskamp 1 Posted January 25, 2006 chris, dennis, bill, thanks for your detailed constructive critiques. the blob on the horizon line are some bushes, but its no problem to erase them. to eliminate the trees on the right would be a larger operation and i am not sure that i would not miss them, but i see your point. regarding including the whole of first tree, it is on the original foto, but it has no attractive shape and i wanted the trees to be sufficiently off center Link to comment

xmote 0 Posted January 25, 2006 This is a very relaxing picture. Kind of like that Robert Frost poem (Miles to go before i sleep) Link to comment
louise bridge 0 Posted May 16, 2006 Let me register as NOT bothered by "blob" or pole or r.h. trees. Although this is not my picture of Frost's "Miles", I can sure see why Donald sees it that way. What I really like about this image is the cheer-leaderish danciness of the front tree and the way the trees' branches look as if they are reaching to shelter the domestic structure on the left at the horizon which I guess folks have been calling a "house". Also the way my eye moves around inside this image. That's a lot of compliments, but this image deserves them all. Link to comment
leo burkey 0 Posted March 8, 2010 Your composition is impeccable and is only exceeded by your post processing. This is one beautiful piece of eye candy. Link to comment
