hac911 0 Posted January 22, 2006 Very Nice image. Did you do 2 exposures, one for Jupiter and one for the Moons? Link to comment
fistral 0 Posted January 22, 2006 In reply to comments YES it really is Jupiter taken through a Meade ETX 125, about 12 images stacked and aligned using Registax software, and YES it is two exposures, as if you expose to get the brightness of the moons recorded you end up with a very over exposed Jupiter, which is exactly what I did, I then took the processed image of Jupiter and replaced the over exposed Jupiter using PS Elements. Thanx for your comments. Link to comment
fistral 0 Posted January 22, 2006 Jupiter as shown in it`s over exposed state allowing enough light to reach the film to record the moons. Link to comment
stephen hazelton 3 Posted January 22, 2006 I never had given much thought to the night sky. But when I was about 12 or 14 years old, I got a pair of 9-16X 50mm binoculars at Christmas. One of the great discoveries with those was that I could see the moons of Jupiter. They were the teensiest points of light, but still there. Very impressive photo, thanks for sharing. Link to comment
