I like many things about this, but TO ME, the bench needs to be facing in towards the middle of the picture. Come to think of it, that is a very strange angle for a bench along a path. Was there some obvious view in that direction?

It is facing in that direction because of a huge water catchment area that also serves as a bird sancturary. It is meant to allow birders to sit and scout out the locations.

It was taken at a bird scanturary. I had just spent 2 hrs taking

photos of a Great Egret when I turned around and this secene

presented itself. I've been to this spot numerous time but have

never seen the lighting like this before.

Haha... I thought it was pretty odd that the bench should be oriented this way too and after reading Vincent's reply, I drew a chuckle... :)

I like this shot but I think it'll be even better if there was a loner sitting on the bench. Why not, Vincent, you try posing the next time you go birdwatching?

Very nice lighting, and the way the bench faces stage left adds an air of introspection.

I really like the bench facing out and the path leading out of the frame. To me, without a lone person on the bench it suggests that you have a choice: Stop, sit down and watch the world go by (or look at where you've been), or keep moving forward.

Very good lighting, but like what most have suggested, I too, like the bench to face on the opposite direction. Colour is cool, and without a person on the bench, it has a strong feel of loneliness.

Like the bench facing out. Like the bench empty. Both are key to the picture. **Well done.** MY only (free and worth it) suggestion for possible improvement would be a higher viewpoint to allow more background behind the bench without including the buildings. Slightly less bightness/saturation along the edge of the path would not be missed by this viewer. Cheers, thanks for sharing and allowing us to indulge ourselves with our comments.
