mattshacklady 0 Posted January 17, 2006 Nice exposure, the composition feels a little off to me - I like a lot of symmetry though :) Link to comment
mmmee 0 Posted January 19, 2006 '69 huh? The strip. That looks good in black and white!! Good old Tri-X. I get the same feeling about being a bit off. Its because of the longer stretch of lights on the right, I think. I want to crop it from that side anyway, to see it almost square. But then that would put the cars way out of position for the lights. This is best the way it is. If you fixed this, I sure cannot see where you did any repairs. Good stuff, Steve! Link to comment
smhickel 0 Posted January 19, 2006 Lots of noise in the upper center right by emont'. Streets are narrow in 69'. Subsequent visits seem to recall wider boulevards, etc. Cars are old style but newish here. I love reflections in the car window on right. Steve Link to comment
smhickel 0 Posted January 21, 2006 More I think about this photo, I believe it could be Reno. Such a long time ago? Steve Link to comment
mmmee 0 Posted January 21, 2006 The memories are priceless, though. Glad you still have the photos. I googled the Golden Nugget and it says Las Vegas. Link to comment
smhickel 0 Posted January 23, 2006 Did you google-it from 1969 though? Somehow me thinks Reno?? Steve Link to comment
smhickel 0 Posted January 23, 2006 I think you are right. When inputting queens, golden nugget, fremont hotel it hits Las Vegas. Well done! Steve Link to comment
mmmee 0 Posted January 23, 2006 We were there in about '72-ish. We drove down in a Volkswagon fastback with friends. She was about 9 month preggers and a terrific travellor. Just wouldn't come to the Bunny Club in LA. :)) Those were the daze!! If you can remember them. Have a boo at my blog for today, for more of those days. a Linda McCartney photography showing in our Museum and a video in the theatre about her and how she got into photography. Man, it was good. She had no formal training, just a natural eye for shooting. Link to comment
smhickel 0 Posted January 25, 2006 So this does look like Vegas and you knew right away! For me, too long ago. just barely remember. Don't know Linda's work. Paul thought a lot of her and I will have to be on the ready to see some of her photography for myself. r, Steve Link to comment
