Driving on the wrong side of the road seems to me pretty dangerous too. (just kidding). Idea - well , so so. The execution is a bit drowsy as well, what I kind of like. cheers Jana

I like it, definite theme fit for me. Just a bit bothered about the green sign and the way it's sort of messed on the bottom left...

Well seen, but apart from that for me a so-so too. I see no particular need for the partial saturation.

As seen, for theme fit it's great, though - it made me smile! Thx for that, PT.

Idea is great, PT.

As to execution : the contrast is a little weird, have you used a type of glow filter on the highlights - especially the road markings? If so, then I assume this is to create a surreal or dreamy/ drowsy state which works to an extent - except that the car's bonnet is so bright, it competes with the rest of the image.

The jury is still out on the need for a saturated sign.

Overall I must applaud the idea.....though, as I avoid driving when drowsy, I'm a little alarmed by the fact I might live forever!

A great find, well suited for this assignment.

I'm quite happy with the green and B&W, but I think the sign needs too be brighter/clearer/closer and the rest darker - even if it means a lot of PS work. The fuzzy blur is good, adds to the message, but the bright sky and bright car bits spoil it somewhat. However the mood is good.

PS Was PT actually driving while shooting this one? seems very dangerous!

No I was not driving when this was taken. The photo was snapped at around 80kph and the photoshop work is to give the apperance of seeing it through a drowsy driver's eyes.

I was the passenger because this photo was taken in Outback Australia and we drive 'on the other side' down here.

I wanted the sign to stand out, hence the colour and I agree that it would take a lot more hours of photoshop to make it to the standard that I would have been happy with, hours that I do not have.

I have also cropped the car hood but yet am not sure if the photo is better without it. I'll leave that up to you guys :)

I think the message is clearer with the car BONNET. Yep, looking again, i do indeed like this, just the green stuff...

They've got that available on some cameras. I have heard about proposals to install a device in front of the driver that monitors his/her eyes. The moment they lose focus and the eyes close for a longer-than-normal blink, some kind of alarm could be activated.

I deliberately posted that one-liner, because this PT submission really appealed to me and I wanted to get in first.

The fuzziness of this one literally portrays that awful moment you get, when your eyes start to go blurry and you just want to close them. It is very important to stop driving for a little while, every two hours, or so.

Well done PT!

Compositionally I prefer your crop, PT, however I would like to have part of the car in the pic - bonnet was a good idea but just so very bright....please go back and re-shoot with graduated filter.

I like it better with the bonnet on it, the message is clearer (althougt it is not true, not all drowsy drivers die, sometimes outstanders die and nothing happens to the drowsy driver).True that the bonnet here it is to bright but even so I think it better to be there.

I had to laugh at your comment, not the critique side of it but the 'go back and reshoot' ... that photo was taken a few hundred kilometers from home and I'm not sure when I'll be returning that way but if I do, I will try to remember to take another pic. Ha ha ...

dont forget your tripod and bring a friend who can look out for you as you stand in the road to reshoot. Now thats definitely dangerous.

Women wear bonnets..cars wear hoods. I'm torn on the green sign but like the idea overall.

Like the overexposure and blur as contributing to the drowsy atmosphere. As a frequent narcoleptic driver, I find the long perspective down the highway and the difficulty of focusing on any one point exactly like the sleepy feeling on the road. But I'm less convinced by the green in the sign - doesn't contribute anything, and seems to overstate the point. I like the blown highlights of the bonnet/hood, especially how they almost merge with the center/centre lines in the road. Greenery aside, nice.
