The diagonal lines suggest impending motion and violence! The two (face and walking figure) have reached the strong compositional positions predicted by the compositional rule-of-thirds, the face clearly shows one character to be sinister. The viewer's mind races forward trying to predict the next few moments! Congratulations on such a vivid and mind bracing image! The fact that color saturation is de-emphasized makes it even better! The darkness holds the terror!
