garph 0 Posted December 25, 2001 I took this picture while living in northern Japan. We came across the lake and bridge by accident. We had used our 4-wheel drive to take the back mountain roads south of Yagen Japan in the Aomori prefecture. We ended up in a volcanic area with this fantastic lake that seemed to boil with all the sulfur bubbles that rose from the lake. There was little to no access to the lake, I only had a 70-200 2.8L lens and tried to back up as far as I could to get the bridge into the frame. There is another picture in my Japan folder on photo.net that is on the other side of the bridge and only of the mountain and lake. I would like to hear what people think in comparison with both photos. Link to comment

mark_kay 0 Posted December 25, 2001 I personally like this photo. The red is very saturated and contrasts the nice background Link to comment
gannet___ 0 Posted December 25, 2001 I think the bridge photo is definitely the stronger of the two. It's coffee-table-book quality, imo. :) Link to comment
yuriy y. vilin 0 Posted December 26, 2001 That's my favorite in your Japan folder. Well deserved ratings! Link to comment
giorgio_pieroni 0 Posted January 17, 2002 so classic, so fine ! A little over the red ? Link to comment
chris_browne 0 Posted January 20, 2002 I love the composition of this shot, especially how the pillars of the bridge coincide with the peaks on the horizon. I'll assume this was intentional, well done! Link to comment
think27 0 Posted January 22, 2002 Prefer the image with the bridge. The bridge makes the shot! Nicely done.. Link to comment
craig_kunitsky 0 Posted February 1, 2002 This shot has a lot going for it: Composition is good with the bridge as the foreground subject. The lighting is nice and warm- sunset. Also, the colors of the bridge and background are complementary which makes the bridge stand out even more. Good Work Link to comment
james weber studio 0 Posted May 26, 2002 I remember getting lost in Aomori many times. :) I miss Japan. It truly is a beautiful counrty, as you've portrayed very well. Great shot. Link to comment
irene_cunningham 0 Posted June 27, 2003 This image made me stop for a closer look. It is stunning. The contrast of the red and greens, and the detail really make you want to stay a while. Beautiful composition. You must be very happy with this result. Link to comment
