HELL on HEAVEN

labuenaluz

I captured this awesome and brief moment of light with an inminent late day alpine storm uprising in the summits of Guadarrama Sierra, just after some days of heavy snows and a meter of fresh powder, there was no other way to barely move up there without traverse skies or snow shoes. With the given stunning conditions and near the abyss, I really felt like being in cold Hell on Heaven!

Ferrando, you captured a beautiful light, here. The strong red hues on the snow are indeed unreal, and the justapoxition of sharp elements in the snow and blurred edges in the cloud makes the shot even more interesting.

I have looked at it a few times, and I guess I would like it more without the left 20%: there is really nothing going on in that part... why did you choose to frame it like this?

Your feedback is really really appreciated!, it makes me feel even more inspired and grows even more my passion for photography, which is not as easy! 8^)

Mark, Salvatore; yes, I thought maybe about some cropping on left side when I sitted back and relaxed analazing the aesthetical and compositional features, giving the scene a more square "perfect" way, but I decided to maintain the original frame I came with up there, just to convey the feeling that invaded me when I pressed the shutter, being "up" in heaven, just in the border of a deep abyss.

After looking it some times, I also enjoyed the misty clouds and how they have a subtle interact with the tree and the obscurity

thank you all again!

I really can't decide if I like your composition or not but it's original that's for sure. I guess I should like it since it makes me look at it longer. I also find the foreground pretty confusing. There's nothing very clear in it. Anyway, it's a nice photo, mainly because of the light though.
