davidorea 1 Posted January 13, 2006 Nice B&W image, Lars. Good composition and contrast. Excellent lighting! Link to comment
zbbrox 0 Posted January 13, 2006 I like the simplicity of this photo. I wonder what it might have been like with a higher contrast. It certainly has a dark feel to it. Link to comment
abintraphoto 0 Posted January 14, 2006 Greetings Lars ! ..... describe the light source, Dof, Iso and the location of this shot please - I'll be back. (-; Link to comment
lars_brorson_fich 0 Posted January 15, 2006 Thank you everybody for your comments, and Ken, about the picture; it is a detail of an assembly line in an closed down factory who has produced asbestos sheets. I have taken a lot of pictures there, and this is the first experiment of how to treat them. The light source is the natural light comming in through the skylights. The object is isolated from the background with help of a layermask in PS. Shutter speed was 8 s, F 10, iso 400. Link to comment
abintraphoto 0 Posted January 20, 2006 Well you've taken something rather ordinary and made it very interesting Lars - thanks for the details. The mask layer is a good idea and adds to the image but I'm wondering how you might accomplish a similar effect without photoshop - much more inner satisfaction in that - for me anyway. It's kind of inconveinient but if you could carry some kind of black and another white reflector with you. With these you could *bend* the light to your liking and play God - smile ... I forget the name of the company (Photo 'something') but they make a variety of round reflectors that collapse into a small circular shape - light and easy to carry and fold out to considerable size. And cost way too much btw - (-; Link to comment
