Fat Cat 1

I used a UMAX Astra 2200 scanner to scan the negative. It sucks, but I can't expect much from a <$100 scanner. I hope some day to buy a real film scanner, but this one will have to do for now. Prints from the lab look much much better, I promise :)

Any tips on getting a better negative scan from a UMAX Astra 2200?

Failing that, can anyone suggest a reliable place to get medium-

format film scans for less than what the labs charge for Kodak Pro

PhotoCD scans? Black and white negative scans on the Astra come out

acceptably, as do color transparencies, but color negatives are a

disaster. I hope to someday buy a real film scanner, but budget

constraints limited me to the Astra for now.

While we're at it :) any critique of the photo itself (scanning

issues notwithstanding)?

It's just obese! :)

Other than the cast and the scan, I reckon you've captured just the right mood of a cat lazing, a fat one while you're at it... Looks to me like it jumped straight out of Wonderland!

Kyle,

How many times did you have an opportunity to get on a train in Poland?

(polish countrygirl:-)
