A Man Alone

danperez

I used two images for this scene depiction. I used Photoshop convert the background image into B & W, added some blur, then I extracted this close-up of the same man taken from a different angle. My first experiment of this sort... I really have no idea what I'm doing! (Which makes it sort of fun).

I just wonder what people think of this image. I'm looking for some

friendly advice more than anything... I'm still learning, but some of

the images I've seen here have inspired me to try and look at some of

my favorite pictures in a new and different way. I'm wondering if it

works or if there is something else I can do with this. I thought

about keeping the B&W background in a crisp focus, but it seemed to

take away from the subject a little. Any thoughts would be welcome.

I love doing this sort of stuff in PS myself. Im not sure which version of PS you have but CS2 has a DOF filter you could have added to the background. Its a great shot but you can add a light source similar to the foreground to the background making it more real. I havent done much people shots myself but this is a great one
