.th 0 Posted January 11, 2006 shorter exposure time, to reduce the star trails. or wayyyy longer. personally i'd prefer the first. but judging by the above comments Geir, i see this one already has a respectable fanclub, so perhaps it's totally out of line for me to answer your question differently. well, that's up to you to decide ,-) best - th. electech 0 Posted January 12, 2006 The only thing about the photo that distracts me is the reflection pinpoints in the snow in the foreground. I don't know if you used a strobe or not, but whenever I have done shots similar to this with strobe, I have gotten similar reflections from the snow. Other than that, great job. I love the photo. larsmith 0 Posted January 12, 2006 When I read "how can this be improved", my face immediatly changed to an expression of incredulity. Even the THO'T of this photo being changed traumatic for me. Please don't allow ANYONE to defile this photo with alterations. Link to comment

lalit 0 Posted January 12, 2006 This picture has great tones and although I love as it is, I noticed only thing and that is the grey snow! I was cusrious if you taken another picture by metering and increasing the exposure for the snow, to make it bright rather? Link to comment
bill_bailey1 0 Posted January 12, 2006 clairity: perfect, color balance: great, depth of field: perfect, over all compostion: great. The only thing I would take a closer look at would be, maybe show more of the branches of the forground tree so is doesn't look chopped off. However, that may lend to much dead spcae in the upper left throwing off the balance of the composition. Link to comment
orlin 0 Posted January 12, 2006 I really like it although I would cut down the sparkle in the sand -- that is what I would do and I thank you for your submission...Orlin Link to comment
ghuczek 0 Posted January 13, 2006 Excellent shot! Normally the bright specks in the snow need to be retouched but not in this case; they work so well here with the star trails. The placement of the boat in the scene makes for a very powerful image indeed. Link to comment
john_p13 0 Posted January 13, 2006 Perfect exposure, great composition, wonderful story. Maybe if the exposure time could have been reduced to reduce the star streaking. Link to comment
vincentleong 0 Posted January 17, 2006 This is amazing! I like this shot very much! One word, stunning! Link to comment
kate_hatton 0 Posted January 27, 2006 No, it's the star trails that give it its fairytale quality! I even like the grey snow - it's more like frozen water. Link to comment
gerry_wirth 0 Posted February 19, 2006 The title of this picture is 'Frost Night' but on the other hand there is so much warmth in it. Beautiful picture which leads to dreaming! Link to comment

living 0 Posted May 1, 2007 A longer exposure than most people do at dusk, but the light on the snow...is that from the moon? Link to comment
