someoneelse 1 Posted January 11, 2006 wow Pnina, GREAT effect with the blue lines coming into the frame, I like the effect of the shadow on his face, the only thing I would have changed, is the blue in the upper right corner, but it is not realy an issue. Link to comment
mari_mar 0 Posted January 11, 2006 Love your creation. Wonderful child and expresion. The colors are very nice, Pnina, well done! Link to comment

hiroya 0 Posted January 12, 2006 You quite control light and shadow in the best way. Very nice portrait with strong contrast without harshness. A small sparkle can be seen on Omer's forehead. I think Lukman questioned about it. A jewel? If not, must be the light of his wisdom(Well, I feel like I have seen the same light on your forehead too...). Link to comment
richard hans 0 Posted January 12, 2006 Excellent use of the light, shadow, background, colors & fine line - play, sweet expression too, very well done!!! Best regards. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted January 12, 2006 Hiroya, thanks for that nice comment,I thought that Lukman reffered to the shadow on his forhead... ( it is already corrected). HE is a brilliant child Hiroya, you are right ;-)).... Richard, thanks as well for your nice comment! Pnina Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted January 12, 2006 Great background! The direct look at the camera is very good too. Not so keen on the dark shadow on the forearm but congratulations on capturing such a striking shot. Link to comment
ada-ipenburg 0 Posted January 13, 2006 Good and very original portrait of your grandson Pnina. The light and shadow gives a fantastic effect here. I like the sunny colours and Omers adorable expression. Good framing; together with the bars at the background it causes an optical illusion of locked in and locked out. I don't know how to express myself in English Pnina, but I hope you understand what I mean with the optical illusion that I feel when I look to this picture. Many Greetings, Ada:~) Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted January 13, 2006 Thanks Colin( not very usual to get a 7 from you...lol) and Ada, I'm glad you liked it. Ada, I understand what you mean . That composition is a bit different and as such brings all sort of feelings. Omer is such a great kid, and last week we went to the park to shoot together and I teach him how to photograph and build a composition... Thanks again to both of you. Pnina Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted January 13, 2006 Not sure how I missed this. I like it a lot. The light and shadow with no burn out shows your control of the midium. Well done. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted January 13, 2006 His pose and expression reminds me of some old Dutch paintings, however, the scenery and lighting is completely different. The shadows/ light make a nice stage for this young man. What makes the shot successful is his posture and charisma, IMO Cheers Carsten Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted January 13, 2006 Better than "Blue Boy". Excellent portrait,Pnina.I love your selection of blue on blue. Link to comment
mspanakis 0 Posted January 13, 2006 Very attractive image, Pnina, due to the blue stripes. You always have an original way to attract the eye. Carsten is right about the similarity with dutch paintings Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted January 14, 2006 I love the light & shadows here. In the thumbnail it looked like he had a hat on. But the shadow over his forehead is effective! Link to comment
dguindon 0 Posted January 14, 2006 Jailed by the light...I love it! Omer is skilled at posing as well. Nice shooting Pnina! Link to comment

seven 0 Posted February 4, 2006 Fine shadows and light study - nice to view in colour. I might have desaturated the blue shirt a bit to match the background diagonals. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted February 4, 2006 Thanks Seven, I thought about it before uploading and decided to leave it as is because I think the contrast works well with two kinds of blue and accentuate the hand's gesture. Pnina Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 16, 2006 Very creative - a combination of an abstract and a portrait, really. The composition is interesting, and the exposure is well controlled. He will treasure this one in 20 years! Link to comment
myrna m. 0 Posted March 6, 2006 The shadow on his head looks like a hat, very cool! I also like the blue. Wonderful portrait! Link to comment
