Light shining through my front door created a stencil like effect on

my broad leafed plant.

Nice idea. Tighter cropping and more dynamic (diagonal) composition would have improved it. Kind of 'ambient photography' (as ambient music) - does not try to say much. Or does it?

I am played with a different angle of crop as you suggested, but I am finding that cropping in closer leaves out too many details. What do you think? Can you explain what you mean by "ambient"? Can a picture still be a picture without "saying" anything? Does it always have to tell a story? Can it just be something nice to look at? Thanks for your input.
