chips2 0 Posted January 8, 2006 http://c11.statcounter.com/counter.php?sc_project=1182226&java=0&security=e101ef74&invisible=1 . White tigers differ from the standard orange and black tigers in appearance only. They are characterized by having a creamy white coat with random black/brown stripes, bright blue eyes, and a pink nose. With the exception of these cosmetic differences, the white tiger remains identical in every aspect to the normal color phased tigers. This striking abnormality is caused by a double recessive allele in the genetic code; and only occurs in one out of approximately 10,000 births in the wild. White Tigers are usually mistaken for albino tigers, Siberian tigers, and as another subspecies of tigers. Link to comment
