Ribbons and Drums

Just throwing this photo out there, hoping to see people's reaction

to it. It hasn't been noticed yet, so maybe this'll get it a few

critiques! I know the depth of field is very shallow (low light)

but, I like it anyway. What about you?

Possibly a polarizer to bring out the sky a bit would have been better.

Bright, colourful and a lot of action. Good photo.

 

The sky needs to be either blue or perhaps plain white so these characters appear to be partly out of the frame. (I know what I mean). I was in the process of writing a comment on this a few days ago when my modem dropped out - thanks Telstra :-(( and I've just got back to it.

I agree with David. A polarizer might have helped. But it's still a very nice, colorful shot.

An addition to previous comments: may be you can arrange it digitally, with a coloring filter for the sky. And if you can't, cropping tighter on the top could help to erase so much whitness.

To be frank and honest, I'd like to know what do YOU like in this picture. But since you ask for reactions, what I see is a plain, quite unimpressive shot of a folk march, nothing really wrong, nothing really interesting. The dull light contributes to the general sense of weakness of this shot. For a turist, this may be a memory. For a photographer, this should be a shot to discard.

I guess we all have different standards of beauty. And incidentally, I was not a tourist, but a performer when I took this shot, Korea is my home.
