jarek 0 Posted January 4, 2006 Great photo. It is so sharp you can see that the dragonfly looks surprised :) Excellent composition. Link to comment
talvitie 0 Posted January 4, 2006 Excellent picture! Bird- pictures are not close to my heart, but this one is photographically an excellent picture. The colors and the cropping is great, but what is great about this picture is that it has captured the bird's life in great way. Link to comment

birteragland 1 Posted January 4, 2006 What can I say but magnificent shot.Just wondering what does the extension tube do?? Link to comment
glenn traver 0 Posted January 4, 2006 and Birte, the extension tube does 2 things, first it reduces the the distance you can be from your subject ( must be very close to subject for a shot )and still have them in focus , and second it is a macro ring, so it makes this lens a long distance macro lens, less than 20 feet, I was at the very end of the range for this shot with a couple of inchs to spare, thanks again ~ GT Link to comment
raphaellopez 0 Posted January 4, 2006 Glenn, this is a fantastic bird image. In my honest opinion, His catch is what makes your catch perfect. Cheer, Raphael Link to comment
schneekranich 0 Posted January 6, 2006 what a beautiful little birdy - one would never think he could do any harm. Stunning picture! Link to comment
jplacount 0 Posted January 6, 2006 Great lighting and a great shot! Was it holding the dragonfly for very long or was this a split second capture? Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted January 6, 2006 caught the food chain in action.... very nicely done, beautiful bird and prey. Pnina Link to comment
glenn traver 0 Posted January 6, 2006 All for the nice comments, this is where the flycatcher stopped to show off her catch before entering her nest to feed the young.she would land on top of the rotten stump (in the swamp ) ,look around and then fly into the hole below in a matter of seconds ~GT Link to comment
jnicholson 0 Posted January 6, 2006 That's what it's all about isn't it, Glenn. Paying attention to what they do to anticipate the shot. Man, you did a great job here. Is that the sun in his eyes or a fill flash. Absolutely spectacular effort and picture. Link to comment
glenn traver 0 Posted January 6, 2006 Jamie, once I found the birds, I only came to photograph them in the evening light 1 hour before sunset, thanks ~ GT Link to comment
gsu_lizard 0 Posted May 16, 2006 Fantastic capture with perfect light, composition, and sharpness! But is it a great crested (Myiaarchus Crinitus) or yellow bellied (Empidonax Flaviventris)? Yellow bellieds have a white eye ring and black wings. I just don't see that here. Regardless of what type of bird it is, the picture has absolutely no room for improvement; perfect! Link to comment
glenn traver 0 Posted May 16, 2006 thanks Ken- you are right , this does appear to be a great crested flycatcher ~ GT Link to comment
