Rhue Lighthouse

ian cameron

Rhue Lighthouse is a dozen or so miles north of Ullapool in Scotland. It is not the prettiest lighthouse in the world but on the right day with snow on the mountains beyond Ardmair Bay it makes a gorgeous colourful study. I was very lucky with the dappled sky but had to search long and hard for a composition that included the reflection and the splash of ochre lichen. I was pleased with the results though. Please take a look at some new images recently uploaded to Transient Light and Timecatcher.

the care you took to make this composition is clear, and the results prove it was worthwhile. viewing your work of Scotland has renewed my interest to return there and attempt to capture some of its beauty myself. thanks for the motivation!

Beautiful composition, I just love the reflection of the lighthouse in the tidepool. Very nice. 6/6

Not a Classic Lighthouse, but a Classic Photo all the same. Very nice composition with that reflection. Good job of balancing the light.

Are those solar panels on the side?
